  1. Myths were created to tell stories about gods and goddesses. My favorite myth was when Athena was challenged by Arachni and Arachni won so Athena turned her into a spider (arachnid). I liked this myth because someone was turned into a spider.

  2. Myths were created to tell stories of what others did and the good or bad consequences. For example, Arachne challenged Athena at art and Arachne thought she was better than Athena. As a result, because she made a hubris, she became. These myths are passed on to the others who believe in the myths.

  9. Myths were created to entertain people, and explain nature. My favorite myth was when Pandora opened the chest. I likes how almost everything was lost, and terrible things happened, but hope was still there. I like how it symbolizes that hope is the one thing that is always with us, and will never leave.

  10. Myths were created to tell different stories about gods and goddesses that were probably a form of entertainment and culture back in those times. In my opinion, the myth I enjoyed the most was the myth about how Athena got jealous of Arachne's woven art and Athena got so upset, she turned Arachne into a spider. I enjoyed this myth the most because it reminds me how sometimes jealousy can get the best of everyone and how can get to a point where people can get hurt physically and mentally.

  12. Myths were created to tell stories that entertain people and tell why natural events happen. For example why it thunders and such. My favorite myth was when Athena thought she was the best at weaving cloth but, Arachne thought she was the best. So Athena challenged her to see who could make the best cloth. In the end Arachne won but Athena didn't want that so she turned her into a spider. That is my favorite myth even though what Athena did was wrong.

  13. They where created as a way to explain the things that happen in nature that cannot be explained scientifically, at the time in which the myth was created. As science proves how things work, myths become false completely, and shouldn't even be thought about, sense it makes no sense at all to believe in something that is utterly false, and you do not need to waste that precious time wasting your energy in nothing that is true. It is always wise to learn to use your facts, and to never trust a false friend, or a false fact, as it could lead you into more trouble then good.

  14. Myths were created to tell the stories of the gods and goddesses a long time ago. They were created to tell people about the things that happened back then too. My favorite myth was the myth when Athena turned Arachne into a spider. And that's how we got the word Arachnid for spiders!!

  15. In the process of creating these myths, we seem to look at the entertainment side, more then why they where created. They where created to explain the natural and unnatural things that happen, that we cannot explain. In the process year after year, story tellers around the world add on to it. the originals myths, are far from what we think they are today. Most of the myths we think about today where created a long time ago, and when they where created, they were far from what they are today. I just though it would be wise of me to explain that, as it is a good point to point out those kinds of things, instead of misleading people.

  19. Well I would have to say the one about Helious's son. I forget his name but I do remember that he drove his fathers chariot into the ocean. This is my favorite myth because Helious's son showed courage to do something he wanted to do. I also think that myths were invented to tell the stories of nature and of things in life that some people couldn't explain. These stories were told to many people and where changed ove the years.

Myths were created to tell why something is the way it is.
It's an entertaining story, but it's also to explain and 'educate'.
